Hello and welcome to my sports blog for this week. Today I am going to be telling you all about the Y5 Bikeability that has been going on during the past week. Bikeability is a cycling programme that teaches you all about how to ride your bike on the road safely, and even better if you don’t want to do it, it isn’t compulsory.
On day one we met two instructors named David and Cathleen, at the start we learnt all of the basics on the school playground like U-Turns. We also learnt how to turn with our hand indicating which way you are going to go.
Day two we went onto the road and did U-Turns on the road, we found it was harder because there was a bend on the road there was a thing called a camber. We also mainly learnt how to be safe on the road.
And then today we were told how to go around parked cars so we don’t hit the parked car. We also then learnt how to wait and then let cars go past us.
Thank you for reading, By Arlo
Hi today I’m going to be telling you about the Y5 bikeability. 25 people are doing bikeabilty.
The 3 instructors are David, Ann and Cathleen who have taught us all a lot. On the first day we rode around the playground and learnt some basic skills. Day 2 we rode around Queens Drive avenue and learnt how to do u turns and to look, put your bike on the road, set your pedals, look and then ride your bike. Day three we learnt how to go round a car without falling and to make sure nobody is in front of you.
