Yesterday was the final day of filming in our temporary stop frame animation studio. The project has been running since May with the children working together in pairs to create a mini-film about the Romans. Unlike a real stop frame studio, the children had very little time, less than 2 hours, to make their film but they all did extremely well.
I hope the children have enjoyed their film making experience and that it has helped them to appreciate just how much time and effort it takes to make a real film in this way. Hopefully, next time they watch a stop-frame movie they will have a small understanding of how difficult it is to make an inanimate figure move without showing your hands!
We only had some Playmobil figures as our characters but the stories that have been told are really brilliant, with some showing real care and diligence.
So, well done Y6 and who knows one day maybe one or two of the children might be stop frame animators of the future.
