Last week we were visited by Mme Aurel.
She is a teacher from our link school which is located just outside of Toulouse, in Levignac.
Mme Aurel was very impressed with the whole school, especially as her school only had 120 pupils.
Our French guest was amazed by the size of of the place, the buildings, the number of the classes and then, the number of children who are taught here each day.
Some things Mme Aurel did comment on were, the politeness and well mannered behaviour of everyone at Queen’s Drive. She loved watching everyone working hard and having fun.
Fortunately, Mme Aurel managed to visit every classroom and in some rooms, she worked with the children and even did a little teaching. She commented on the enthusiasm, confidence and willingness to learn shown by the children. She also loved all the active learning taking place in school.
Surprisingly, Mme Aurel was particularly jealous of all the computers, interactive whiteboards and ipads that we have in school. We discovered why-in Levignac they do not have any computers,( except in the school office) !!!! Not even an interactive whitboard ! That was a shock to us.
However, you can see we had a great time with Mme Aurel. We managed to ask her several questions about the French language and then French culture. We learned about her family and her pets, plus we learned how the French education system is so very different to ours here in England.
It was a great experience for us and for Mme Aurel and it was sad to see her go.
We hope that we can share our school with another visiting teacher another time. In the meantime, have a look at our photographs.
Au revoir !
