Welcome to Year 5

We have had a great start to year 5!

In history, we’ve been exploring why the Vikings invaded Britain. We've learned that they came in search of wealth, land, and better farming opportunities, as Scandinavia had poor soil for crops. They also sought new trading routes and treasures from British monasteries.

In science, we've been investigating the properties of materials. We conducted an experiment to determine which cups were the best insulators by measuring the temperature of a liquid at different intervals to see how well each cup retained heat. It's been an exciting start to year 5!
