Design Technology - Making our own dip

This half term we have been learning about different foods and their food groups.  

We have used our senses to describe different types of dippers (e.g. carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, bread sticks, pepper sticks, tortilla chips) and different types of dip (e.g. salsa. glucamole, soured cream and chive, mango chutney and hummous) 

After tasting all these dips we then designed our own dip.  We had to think of a base for our dip (e.g. mayonnaise, soured cream, natural yoghurt) and what vegetables we wanted to put into our dip.

We then used the claw and bridge cutting techniques to cut up and prepare the vegetables for our dip.  

 

We had so much fun creating our dips and trying each others!
