First Aid
At Queen's Drive, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all pupils, staff and visitors. All staff at Queen's Drive Primary School undertake first aid training to ensure that we can respond quickly and appropriately to an incident should it arise. First aid is a temporary care for a pupil, member of staff or visitor who is ill or injured, supporting them emotionally, preventing an injured or ill person's condition from worsening and preserving life. This may include treating minor injuries or taking charge where an injury or illness requires further treatment by a medical professional until the patient can be taken to hospital.
We have two defibrillators located at Queen's Drive Primary School, one in each building.
Mr. Aspinall, the Deputy Headteacher, keeps the children's medical record fully up to date. Various children have asthma plans or individual medical care plans which for example include those children who have an epi-pen or an allergy.
