Science: Modelling fossils

This half term we have been learning all about rocks, fossils and soil in science. We have made some fantastic models of fossils. Modelling in science helps us to understand scientific processes. We made a mould out of clay - this represents the mould that would have been left in sedimentary roacks after a covered skeleton had dissolved. We filled the mould with plaster - this represents the fossil that is formed when minerals are deposited in the mould. We hads lot of fun and made a bit of a mess too.
