Year 6 buddies

This year, Year 6 children have continued the wonderful tradition of "buddying up" with the children in EYFS. Children have been able to build a raport with the youngest members of our school with the aim of supporting their transition into the big, wide world of school. 

Year 6's have had an amazing time getting to know their buddies: playing games, making items and supporting reading. It has been a massive benefit to the children in Class 1 and 2 and we are sure it has taught the Year 6's a few things about being nurturing, supportive, patient and a dependable person who can be there for someone during difficult times. It has been so wonderful to see just how supportive and kind-hearted the children of Class 13 and 14 can be.

Both classes intend to meet up with their buddies throughout the school year and support them with different aspects of their learning and socialising.
