Autumn 1

Hello to all parents and carers of our lovely class 1 and 2 children.

We have had a fantastic term learning about people who help us. We have explored a variety of different roles within the community such as dentists, doctors, nurses, opticians and the fire department. We were extremely lucky to have 2 visitors over the term! We had a police officer visit and we all dressed in officer uniform, and we had 2 members of the fire departnment visit to tell us about their jobs. We were able to explore a police car and a fire engine which was amazing because we could see all the tools used by these people to help others. 

The children also chose their own enquiry topic which was about who they think help us. Their main focus was on superheroes! Because of this, we have dressed up, been superheroes in roleplay, and designed our own super hero costumes. We even turned the main character of our focus text, "shark in the park" into a superhero!

We hope everyone had a lovely half term break and we look forward to getting back on to our new unit, called Let's celebrate.
